GOODBYE WEEKEND - WE HAD SOMETHING SPECIAL!

Love it as its traditionally a day of rest OR  hate it because it’s the day before the week begins again!

Welcome to Sunday; the day after the night before!

Sunday - a fun day!

It can be seen as the day of rest and a time to lie in bed, read the Sunday newspapers, possibly enjoy breakfast in bed and listen to the church bells ringing out!

The outlook, no matter the weather for this day is absolutely nothing.  The pace is sloth like with absolutely no ambition to achieve anything more than turning on technology briefly to order a teatime takeaway.

Those who choose to rise early normally have small children, are churchgoers or keen to get up to tuck into a 'Full English' before thinking about peeling the spuds ready for the traditional Sunday Roast!  Or they want to get ready to hot foot it to somewhere with family and friends without any of the washing up afterwards!

When you think about your perfect Sunday, what would it be?  Down the pub, out walking the dog, sleeping in, going out for brunch or reading that book you bought six months ago and have never had the chance to get pass the cover page?

Sundays are a day where a mixture of solitude and company reap benefits allowing you to feel rejuvenated, and ready to tackle the work week when that damn alarm goes off on Monday morning!

Spending some time alone gives an opportunity to reflect, clear your mind, improve your creativity and do all those things you want to do.  So unplug the laptop, switch off the phone to ensure there are no emails, text messages or Facebook notifications.  If your going to invest time, invest it in real people!

Sunday is a great day to dabble in your favourite pastime or hobby helping to recharge batteries and spark some passion. Whether it's writing, cloud watching, reading tea leaves or wine tasting, you should use your free time on Sundays to do activities you normally can't do during the week.

While there's no denying that we all need to be physically active, the busy week may not leave us with too much to squeeze in a workout, so you can always catch-up on your physical fitness on Sundays.  It is a day that offers a great chance to get in a bit of exercise before you head back to the daily grind!  So what are you waiting for?  Whip out the yoga mat or do a few circuits around the garden.

Although you dont want to think about tomorrow and all it brings you could be more prepared as a Sunday also provides a chance to plan your upcoming week which will save you time and effort throughout the week.

Whatever you do, savour your Sunday, as before you know it Monday will be here and it wont be long before you once again will be wishing it were Friday!

Did You know……..

It may be traditionally be the day of rest, but more people break bones on a Sunday than any other day of the week!

The figures are boosted by the high number of amateur sports matches and the fact that kids are more likely be active outside, doing things like riding bikes.

On the plus side, the end of the week is also the happiest.

The most positive, upbeat messages are sent on this day.

However, it’s by far the worst day to have an operation as patients who go under the knife are 80% more likely to die than if they have the procedure on a Monday as senior doctors are less likely to be on duty on this day.
