Your smile makes me smile

For a while

And then thank goodness for all the other things that can cause a grin

Which make the lines around my eyes to become more bold

Making me look old

Causing me to frown and feel down

So, I look again at your face and there is no trace

Of that facial expression which gave the impression

You were happy

Are you now feeling crappy?

You look severe and appear your mood has changed quickly

The atmosphere becomes positive prickly

You turn to leave the room with that odd little jog

But don’t see the dog

And trip and fall begin to crawl as though it hasn’t happened

Your knee is hurt your pride more as you make it through the door and for a while
