Joint owner of a South London Artisan Bakery since 2018 this candidate doesn’t hold back in expressoing her views. Her website explains they are a small close knit team with two experienced bakers who together have been baking over 60years..! (must be exhausted!)  Their multi-seed bread potentially famous around this North Dulwich Triangle location! 

Describing herself as a flat white - her reasoning “cause it’s the talk of the town at the minute isn’t it?” Well actually that’s a no; The latest coffee trend is a cold brew coffee! 

Carina goes on to explain “a flat white is a small latte with a double shot – very simple – let’s not faff it! Absolutely hate faffers!

But where's the detail? This Carina is an intricate little coffee!  The process of producing a flat white coffee yet relatively simple involves steaming milk and pouring the resultant microfoam over a double espresso – see - she missed the microfoam bit!  It seems a latte fuss about nothing, but you either knows your beans or you are a has bean in the world of coffee.  Already demonstrating her coffee skills are below beverage.

Carina revealed “like me – I’m not faffy - I might you know talk a lot and stuff and doing a bit of hands now” demonstrating what doing a bit of hands now looked like – waving her hands in the air liked she just don’t care!

But is this South Londoner all froth and no substance? Will her apprentice journey come to a bitter end? Or will her grounded approach mean no procaffenating on her way to winning the 250k?

Believing it’s “written in the stars” or yuánfèn 缘分 (yoo·an·fen as I prefer to say) she will be Lord Sugar’s next Apprentice (hope the weather improves!).

Warning other candidates that they should not underestimate her because of her accent, as she knows how to “put on a suit (getting dressed always helps) and be the full package” (let’s see what’s in the package over the next few weeks).She doesnt seem to know her own height and at a guestimate she states “I’m about 5 foot 1 inch tall - I’m like a pocket rocket, you don’t really want to mess with me.”  Definition of Pocket Rocket; A nickname for a small person regarded as very fast or energetic originally a nickname given to a ice hockey player!

So, what can she bring to The Apprentice party?  Her business idea is wait for it……… a modern-day bakehouse! (must have taken a while to think that one through!)  She feels using the word bakehouse is cooler than bakery (tomatoes/tomatos – potatoes/potatos......).

Her rationale? We will love it, everyone loves it! (well that’s perfectly sensible and such business acumen!)  This natural leader that people latch onto in order to benefit from the influence she carries (not on flat whites) doesn’t wish to sound big headed but her aim is to be the winner.  “Why can’t I be the winner?” (umm probably as there are 15 other candidates all trying to take a bite out of that 250k cherry).

For someone who needs more dough to make more dough let’s hope she’s not a gluten for punishment and Sir A doesn’t make toast of her….
