WEEK 4 - KEEN OR JUST PLAIN MEAN?
So, in the future if you look back at me with a question in your eyes, I’m not going to give you an answer says the greatest Sub Team Leader and team player NOT!
Week 4 brings to Marianne the power of speech and lots of very telling facial expressions!
Is this American businesswoman showing her true colours? From the start it appeared she was on a mission to exclude Lottie taking every opportunity to put her down or override any decisions or suggestions she made in a very noticeable and quite spiteful way!
Regrettably women are the worst where is comes to being ruthless in the workplace and some are still under the belief that in order to get to the top they must squash others along route to get there - with or without bright red lippy! It’s a shame that she doesnt rate her own capability enough not be such a bitch! It’s the Tommy Show – oh no it isn’t!
There is no denying Lottie needs to work on how she comes across to others, as in real life being a team player and not rubbing people up the wrong way is invaluable, but Marianne was out to get Lottie and it showed!
The raised eyes, look of OMG is she for real whenever Lottie spoke may be her downfall as who wants a business partner who belittles others in their quest to look good?
The real Marianne came out in force in the boardroom the minute she saw Thomas not fighting back. But why was she in the boardroom? Was it because she was the one who didnt listen or understand the brief as if she had why would such an ugly and red bike been produced? As Sub Team Leader she went along with the red wheels and when the childish rocket logo was popped onto the front of the hideous bike they had created - her actual words were "I think that’s perfect". Was she the one who to one of the UK leading bike retailers said well some people like red and others don’t – can you believe such a bleeding obvious statement would justify making a bike that no one over 4 years old would be attracted to its colours and silly rocket?
Her unimaginative suggestion of boundar ee’s for the bike was so obviously not right that her other team members changed it instantly.
She didnt like being challenged by Thomas during the task for not getting it right having ignored the word fitness and therefore she came in all guns firing in the boardroom in the knowledge that she had made some real boo boos in this task!
Her interpretation of support when Lottie was selling was telling - instead of leaving Lottie to complete and end the negotiations she had to jump in and stop the proceedings and then made a bitchy comment about if you look at me with a question in your eyes dont expect any answer well then don’t get involved!
Maybe spending time with the red bike made her angry and armed with her red lipstick she was ready to explode, but apart from being someone who can stare out her opponents and say nasty things when push comes to shove what has she actually got to be Lord Sugars next business partner - apart from being a mean girl?
Watch this space …….
Risk Taker/Apprentice Maker - you decide!
Is this American going to be awesome? Or will she just irritate? From her audition video she admits she makes ditsy comments like "Your kings good" – ditsy or just plain stupid? – you decide as she scrunches up her face in a look at me Im so clever sort of way!
Game player who acts la la to get the deal describes herself as dumb as a fox, not as sly as one or as crazy as one, but instead choosing this sarcastic allusion to the idiom,"sly like a fox", because foxes are usually thought of as cunning, smart, meaning that she is smart so why not just come right out with it and say it in the first place?
She distracts and deflects attention over the negogiating table with everyone ignoring her and then before they can say "deal" she comes in, wins the deal from right under their noses and yet they still remain thinking it was their idea – who are these people?
She is a competitive person with a smile (like a silent assassin) and not someone who is in your face sort of obviously competitive, just quietly confidently competitive; a skill she practises day in day out and all the time – so she is probably a real bad loser! And potentially that woman who swims in the next lane to you who always thinks it’s a race!
However, this American is urging viewers not to judge a book by its cover as presumably we may miss out on a good story and moreso a happy ever after when she becomes Sir Alan’s business partner and gets 250k to invest in her ongoing risk management consultancy business.
But she has admitted she has no filter and may need to “dial down her American-ness”. Lets hope she has gotten the right balance – OMG what kind of word is gotten? and please Marianne dont be tempted to use too many!
Well lets just sit back and watch this space concentrating on her in her bid to not only win The Apprentice but take over the world with the helping hand and wallet of Sir Alan Sugar!
